Virginia M. “Ginger” Cluett, 79, wife of Hubert Cluett Jr. of Barnstable formerly of Gloucester passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 2, 2018. She was born in Gloucester on April 21, 1939 daughter of the late Alvin and Muriel “Mimi” (Pecunies) Borge. Ginger attended Gloucester Schools.

She was an avid gardener and had a great fondness for animals, especially dogs and cats. Ginger will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Hubert Cluett Jr. of Barnstable; daughter, Robin Marchessault and her husband Steven of Barnstable; grandchildren, Samantha Ketchopulos and her husband Michael of Rockport, Ginger Cluett of Haverhill; 5 great-grandchildren, Logan and Rachel Ketchopulos, Shawn Skinner, Jason Morin and Jayden Cluett; her sister, Faye Jackson and her husband Neil of Gloucester; her brother, Alvin Borge of Gloucester; sister-in-law, Susan Cluett of Gloucester; brother-in-law, John Rudolph of Gloucester and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her son, Hubert “Chucky” Cluett III; step sister, Sylvia Hazen; her brother-in-law, Ronald D. Cluett and her sister-in-law, Lorraine B. Rudolph. In keeping with her wishes, her funeral service and burial will be held privately for family and friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to Cape Ann Animal Aid, 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930 or to a charity of one’s choice.
