John S. Lucido, 51 of Gloucester passed away at Salem Hospital on October 28, 2018. He was born in Gloucester on August 26, 1967 to G. Jane Murray and the late John J. Lucido. He attended Gloucester Public Schools and graduated from Gloucester High School in 1986.

John was employed by Verizon for over 25 years and enjoyed being deployed for disaster relief response, his passion was helping those in need. He was also a talented woodworker, carpenter and auto mechanic. He was at his happiest while on the ocean, whether it was on his boat, rowing in the International Dory Races, rowing seine boats during the St. Peter’s Fiesta or striper fishing with his lifelong friend John M. Parisi.

He will be remembered as a kind and loving soul who loved to help anyone in need and as a loving father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend to many. His spirit will live on through his daughters, Julianna R. and Vanessa N. Lucido, mother G. Jane Murray, sister Rosemarie K. LoPiccolo and her husband Robert, brother Michael P. Lucido and his wife Estela, nephews Craig M. LoPiccolo and Ryan C. Lucido, special friends John M. and Janette Parisi and Heather A. McLeod, his Godchildren Alexis Parisi and Dylan Sheehan-Parks, and the mother of his children Nikki Parisi. He was predeceased by his father John J. Lucido, his maternal grandparents George and Grace Murray and his paternal grandparents Frank T. and Rose Lucido.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 11am – 2pm at Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester MA. A Celebration of Life to immediately follow at Café Seven Seas, Gloucester House, 63 Rogers Street, Gloucester, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to: International Dory Racing Committee, PO Box 852, Gloucester, MA 01930.
