Joseph A. Trowbridge, 93, of N. Billerica, MA, formerly of Lynnfield, MA, husband of the late Phyllis M. (Powers) Trowbridge passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 10, 2018. He was born in Newton, MA on February 23, 1925, son of the late Almarin and Annabel (Miller) Trowbridge. Joseph attended Newton Schools and was a graduate of Harvard ’47 with a BS in Electrical Engineering.

He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII, receiving the WWII Victory Medal and the American Theatre Medal. Joseph married the love of his life, Phyllis on January 12, 1952 in St. Ann’s Church, Gloucester, MA. Joseph was the Vice President of Quality Assurance for Stanley Tools and previously worked for GE, AVCO, Honeywell and Analogic.

He was very active for over 50 years, in the American Society for Quality Control and was elected as a Fellow in 1983. ASQ/Hartford has created the “Joseph A. Trowbridge” award in his honor. Mr. Trowbridge will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughters: Carol and Robert Noble of Arlington, MA, Joan Trowbridge of Minnetonka, MN, Linda Trowbridge and Robert Vear of Nashua, NH and Mary and Robert Barthelmes of Beverly, MA and his grandchildren: Kali and John Henry Noble, Wesley Petersen and Joshua Sparrow, Travis Petersen and Kit Collins, Elizabeth and James Wolff, and Rachael Barthelmes. Visiting hours will be held at the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester, MA on Friday, July 13, from 4 to 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 72 Pleasant Street, Gloucester, MA on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. The funeral will be followed by the burial at Calvary Cemetery 151 Eastern Ave, Gloucester, MA. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
