June E. Newman, 80, of Rockport, wife of Grant W. Newman passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday evening, June 9, 2018 at the Beverly Hospital. She was born in Lynn, MA on April 9, 1938, daughter of the late Everett and Sarah (Corbett) MacLean. She attended Lynn High school and Pittsfield High school in New Hampshire.

June was employed by the phone company in Salem for 15 years and for over 14 years at Gorton’s of Gloucester as a purchasing assistant. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and mother- in-law. She enjoyed bird watching, hiking, travel, as well as caring for her family and her pets.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Grant W. Newman; her daughter, Lisa J. Newman; her son, Grant E. Newman and his wife Christina E. Anello Newman all of Rockport; 3 grandchildren, Trevor Duke, Michael Newman and Olivia Newman; her sister, Ivy Collins and her husband Richard; sister-in-law, Marilyn Militello and her husband Matthew; her brother-in-law, Bruce Newman and his wife Deborah; nieces, Holly Newman, Patsy McLeary, Kathleen McLeary, Deborah Bouchard, Jackie Bouchard and Colleen Ruble; nephews, Steven, Militello, Keith Militello, Timothy Bouchard and many great nieces and nephews. Her Memorial Service will be held in the First Congregational Church of Rockport at a later date. There will be no visiting hours and the burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her name to the Cape Ann Animal Aid Association. 4 Paws Lane, Gloucester, MA 01930. Arrangements by the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester.
