Mabel Dorothy (Francis) Bradley of Denver, Colorado formerly of Gloucester, Massachusetts passed away on April 28th 2018, Mabel was 100 years old. Born in Gloucester on March 1, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Josephine Francis. Mabel attended Gloucester High School, Mt.

Vernon, Point Grammar and Hildreth schools. On January 22nd, 1939 Mabel married Walter F. Bradley and they were blessed with 68 years of marriage. Walter predeceased her in 2008.

Mabel was a loving mother and housewife, when she wasn’t taking care of her four boys and her husband she worked part time as a sales clerk at the Briny Breeze and Miss Quigley’s gifts shops in Bearskin Neck. Mabel enjoyed sewing, knitting and crafts and had a passion for baking. In Mabel’s kitchen there was often the wafting scent of one of her treats; cookies, pies, congo squares, brownies and Portuguese sweet bread.

Christmas time was always very special at the Bradley home, Mabel would bake dozens of Christmas cookies and put on a feast everyone loved. Mabel loved animals, she had many dogs throughout her life and totally enjoyed her family and friends pets and the pets loved her baking too. Mabel is survived by her four sons, Walter F. Bradley Jr. and wife Mary of Colorado Springs, Colorado, James E. Bradley and companion Gail Johnson of Loudon, New Hampshire, Dana E. Bradley and Jane of Richmond, Kentucky and William A. Bradley and wife Lisa of Conifer, Colorado.

Mabel is also survived by seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She will be missed by all. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Good Voyage Church on Saturday, May 19th at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.

Visiting hours in the Greely Funeral Home, 212 Washington Street, Gloucester will be held on Friday, May 18th from 4:00 and 7:00 p.m. The burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Gloucester. For online condolences, please visit www.
