Pelletier, age 67, of McMillan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, under the loving care of her family & friends as well as the staff of Amedisys Hospice & Trident Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina. Born January 18, 1952 in Newberry, Michigan, daughter of the late Elmer Donald & Anna Marie (Mattson) Moisio. Sherry was raised on the Moisio family farm in the Finnish community of Newberry and was a 1970 graduate of Newberry High School.

Subsequently she attended the Soo Beauty Academy. She married Jerald “Jerry” Pelletier on November 29, 1975 in Newberry. Together they ran the Pelletier Adult Foster Care Home where they touched the lives of many for 27 years.

Additionally, Sherry was a 4-H youth extension agent, temporary postmaster, bus driver, gas station attendant, waitress and farmer. To say that she was an adaptable woman who was dedicated to her family would be an understatement. Sherry graduated from Bay de Noc Community College with her nursing degree in 1995.

She then worked as a registered nurse in a variety of settings including: hospice, home health, prison, long term care and finally as a traveling director of nursing for long term care until she retired in 2009. She was an extremely kind and generous woman who was loved by many. “I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck,” was one of Sherry’s favorite sayings, and it was truly reflected in how she loved everyone indiscriminately.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Jerry; sons, Ryan (Krysten) Pelletier of Opelousas, LA, Joel (Krista) Pelletier of Summerville, SC and Dr. Pete Pelletier of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren; Camberley, Brayden, Arya and Rylie; siblings Dr. Elmer “Cookie” (Marie) Moisio of Marquette and Sandra “Sandy” (David) Brindley of Marquette; numerous nieces and nephews. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Donald “Don” Moisio and Mary Ann (Moisio) Parrish. Funeral services will be held in South Carolina on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 11:00 AM at North Trident Baptist Church in Ladson, SC.

Additionally, a Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 5, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Newberry, MI.
