Obituary for Stephen B. Barnes Stephen passed away peacefully at the age of 74, on the morning of Tuesday, July 10, with his beloved bride of 52 years by his side. He was born to Joe Thomas and Doris Strimbach on June 30, 1944 in Battle Creek, Michigan. Stephen then married Clara Barnes in 1965 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

He owned his own business for 38 years and his secret was that he believed if you put pride in your work, it would show. Stephen’s favorite thing to do was to spend the day fishing in his Uncle’s lake. In his later years, he spent a lot of time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He enjoyed hearing their laughter and vigor for life. Stephen will be remembered as a generous man who helped others that needed it, mostly children’s causes. He is survived by his wife Clara; his children, Steve (Becki), Bridgett, and Frank; his grandchildren, Alec, Drew, Ilsa, Dylan, and Ashley; his great grandchildren, Maria, Owen, and Sean; and his brother, Kirt.
