Obituary for Marilyn Johnson Marilyn Johnson, aged 71, passed peacefully from this world on July 1, 2018, in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her family. She was born on October 22, 1947 in Detroit to Tom and Vi (Dunlop) Pritchard. Raised in Livonia, she went on to attend Michigan State University to pursue a degree in French and education.

She married Paul Johnson on August 24, 1968. Together they raised their daughter (Laura) and son (Tom) in Plymouth, MI. Marilyn was passionate about serving others, and spent many years volunteering through organizations like AAUW (American Association of University Women).

She was an active member of Dexter United Methodist Church and has lived her life as a testimony to her faith. Marilyn inspired others, young and old, with her leadership in Vacation Bible School, Explorer’s Bible Study, and Stephen Ministry. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter Laura Hoehn, and her grandchildren Jessica and Justin Hoehn. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul and son Tom. Visitation for Marilyn will take place on July 2, from 5-7 pm and July 3 at 10 am at Dexter United Methodist Church.

The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Matt Hook presiding. Memorial contributions may be made in Marilyn’s honor to Arbor Hospice or Dexter United Methodist Church.
