Obituary for Arwyn Keith Carr Arwyn Keith Carr, age 84 of Dexter, Michigan, passed away on June 30, 2018 surrounded by his family. Arwyn was born on July 21, 1933 to parents Guy and Violet (Chapman) Carr in Weidman, Michigan. After graduating from high school, Arwyn was accepted into Michigan State University.

He graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Shortly after his graduation he relocated to the Ypsilanti area and established Carr’s Veterinary Clinic on Michigan Avenue where he would work for 40 years until his retirement. In 1971, Arwyn married Joan Martin in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Together they raised four sons Arwyn Jr., Paul, John, and Steven. Throughout their 47 years of marriage, Arwyn and Joan hosted eleven exchange students through Youth For Understanding, an Ann Arbor international educational exchange program. Arywn enjoyed many athletic activities including volleyball, handball, and racquetball.

He also loved to watch University of Michigan basketball and football. Arwyn would spend free time collecting antique stamps, coins, and antique farm tractors. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren who he was so proud of.

Arwyn is survived by his loving wife, Joan; his children Arwyn Jr. (Barb), Paul (Laura), John, and Steven; his grandchildren Samantha, Arwyn III, Valerie Phillips, Alexandria, and Amy; and four great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life Gathering will take place on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Nie Family Funeral Home, 3767 W. Liberty Rd. , Ann Arbor.
