Thomas (Tom) John Schwerbrock, D.V.M, 59, of Kewanee, Il passed away April 28, 2018, after an extended illness. Cremation has been accorded. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 5th at 11:00am at Zion Lutheran Church in Kewanee with visitation beginning at 9:30am.

Tom was born October 3, 1958 in Kewanee, the son of Charles and Thelma (Rosenquist) Schwerbrock . He graduated from Kewanee High School in 1976, attended Western Illinois University for 2 years and transferred to the… Read More » U of I Veterinary College where he earned his doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine in 1982. He was employed at Kewanee Veterinary Clinic and later became a partner there.

In 1992, he opened the Pin Oak Veterinary Clinic and continued to practice until his health failed. He married Karen Bottom on September 21, 1991. She survives along with their 4 children Evan, Hannah, Bryce, and Jacob.

Also surviving are his parents and sisters Christine (Timothy) Murray, Ann Schwerbrock and a brother David (Katrin) Schwerbrock. He is also survived by Karen’s family: Cheryl (Luke) Cowles, Nancy (Mike) Brennan, Michael Bottom and many nieces and nephews. He and his family attended Zion Lutheran Church.

He had a passion for writing and published several books. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed attending his children’s activities. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
