Yvonne Audrey McCray, 81, of North River Ave. Weston passed away at 6:55 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in the Crestview Manor Nursing Home in Jane Lew. She was born in Hebron, NE on February 13, 1937 a daughter of the late George August Sandman and Hulda Augusta Sophia Jordening Sandman.

On January 23, 1960 she married Mayford “Mac” Delmar McCray and they celebrated 46 years of marriage before his passing on May 8, 2006. She is survived by two children: George Raymond McCray and fiancé, Audrey Ramseur, of Ashland, VA, and Lisa Marie McCray and spouse, Sheila, of North Hampton, MA; three grandchildren who will dearly miss their Grammy: Cowles, Read, and Ford McCray; one brother, Fred Allen Sandman and wife, Judy, of Albequerque, NM; brother-in-law, Norman Clary; two sister-in-laws: Willa Radcliff of Weston, and Vonda Dye of Jane Lew several cousins including Wanda Greathouse, and Lea McCray Smarr, both of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two siblings: Mariah “Sandy” Clary, and Rita Dalsing and husband, Phillip.

Yvonne grew up on a farm where she learned many life lessons, and knew the value of hard work, dedication, and devotion to family. She was employed as a secretary in the Social Work Dept. at the Department of Corrections for many years.

She was a member of the Lewis County Democratic Women, and member and VP of the Lewis County CEOS. She enjoyed traveling, needlepoint, and spending time with her grandchildren. Friends and family will gather for a Graveside Service at McCutcheon Chapel Cemetery in Duffy at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 with Reverend Bill Coffindaffer officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the McCutcheon Chapel Cemetery Association c/o Carmen Ratliff 3907 Glady Creek Rd. Ireland, WV 26376. The Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Rd.
