Alvin’s Obituary Alvin Lee Hensley, 77, of Elkton, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2019, at his home. He was born July 11, 1941, in Elkton and was the son of the late Jacob R. and Rachel Dean Hensley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elsie Shifflett.

Alvin graduated from Elkton High School and was a carpenter for over forty years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a fan of Jimmy Johnson on NASCAR. He served our country in U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Massanutten Hunt Club. On September 2, 1978, he married Vickie (Lucas) Hensley, who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Nathan W. Hensley and companion, Crystal Grey; daughter, Kelly Williams and husband, Rocky; sister, Olivia Samuels of Elkton and a granddaughter, Mia Prieto.

The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton. Pastor David Wade will conduct a funeral service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elk Run Cemetery.
