Arlene Ann Carlton, 75, of Rosedale, passed away November 14, 2018 at Union Hospital. She was born November 3, 1943 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Emmett and Margarete McDonald Callendar. She enjoyed antiques, searching for the unique items and learning of the history of the antiques as well.

She last worked at Aunt Patty’s antiques on the square in Rockville. She also enjoyed meeting people from different areas making new friends in the shop. She and her husband David Bradshaw… Read More » began coming to Bridgeton many years ago as vendors.

They sold handmade wooden crafts and seasonal items. They enjoyed the area, so they put down roots in Parke County. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Robert Callendar; a sister Joan Mulligan; her first husband and father of her children, Robert Starr and her second husband David Bradshaw.

She is survived by her husband of six years, Charles Carlton of Rosedale; her children, Tom Starr and wife Jamie of El Cajon, CA, John Starr and wife Tabitha of Seneca, IL, and daughter Lynn Starr of Lyle, IL; four grandchildren; a step-daughter, Rita Smith of Loveland, OH; a niece Jean Schilling (David); two nephews, Erik Schilling and Matt Schilling and other extended family. At her direction, cremation was chosen with services to be held at a later date. French Funeral Home was entrusted with her arrangements.
