Obituary for Beatrice A. Matthenius Beatrice A. Matthenius, 96, of Bethlehem Township, PA, formerly of Pohatcong. Township, NJ passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at Hospice House of the VNA of St. Luke’s in Bethlehem, PA. Bea was born in Princeton, NJ on October 14, 1922 to the late John and Mildred Zundel Davidson.

Bea was an Electronics Lab Technician with the RCA Corporation in Princeton, NJ, retiring in 1980. She was also the owner of two antique shops in Belvidere, NJ and Whitehouse, NJ. Bea also served as Head of the Warren County (NJ) Welfare Board.

She was a graduate of Princeton High School and McDonald Art School in New York City. Bea served her country in the US Navy during WWII from 1942-1945 as a parachute rigger. Bea was a member of Hazen Presbyterian Church in Hazen, NJ.

Bea is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jacob C. Matthenius. A Funeral Service for Beatrice will be held on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 11am at the Rupell Funeral Home, LLC; 465 Memorial Parkway; Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. A Visitation of Family and Friends will be held from 10am until service time at the funeral home.
