Obituary for Bertha Dzubek Bertha (Mayotte) Dzubek, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Wingate at Wilbraham. Born May 25, 1926 daughter of the late Abraham and Mary (Partosa) Mayotte, she was raised and schooled in Springfield and has lived in West Springfield for the past 60 years. She was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School and a communicant of the Basilica of St. Stanislaus, Bishop and Martyr.

Bertha was mainly a homemaker but worked for many years in the cafeteria at West Springfield High School where she made sure her son, Paul, and friends were very well fed. She was renowned for her delicious pierogi which she prepared every Christmas and Easter to the delight of family and friends. She also enjoyed trips to Paris, England and Poland, as well as two trips to Hawaii with her husband to celebrate their 25th and 50th wedding anniversaries.

Bertha was predeceased by her loving husband, John Dzubek, her beloved son, Gary J. Dzubek, her dear and loving sister Helen Poe and two brothers, Albert Mayotte and Pete Mayotte. Bertha is survived by a loving son, Paul E. Dzubek and wife Theresa, of Wilbraham; a niece, Marilyn Provost, of Chicopee, and a nephew, John Langone, of Newton. The family would like to thank the residents and staff at Bluebird Estates in East Longmeadow for their friendship and support while Bertha was living there.

They would also like to thank the caring staff at Wingate at Wilbraham and also Beacon Hospice for making sure she was comfortable during her final days. A calling hour for Bertha will be held Wednesday from 10–11 AM at Kozikowski Funeral Home, 565 Front St., Chicopee, followed by a service in the funeral home at 11 AM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
