Obituary for Betty J. Massa Betty J. (Ruff) Massa, 93, of Wrightsville passed into eternal rest with her Lord on October 17, 2018 at Normandie Ridge. Born on December 18, 1924, in York Township near Dallastown, she was the daughter of the late Edgar M. and Margaret (Sinclair) Ruff. She was the wife of the late Edward M. Massa.

Betty graduated from Dallastown High School in 1942 and attended Thompson Business School. She was employed by York Corporation and Eastern York School District. She had for 60-plus years been an active member of Grace U.M. Church, Wrightsville.

With a keen interest in history, she served as church historian and created a history of the church for its 100th Anniversary. She also creatively maintained family historical records and memorabilia and collected information about trips to Austria, Switzerland, Iceland, Ireland, Hawaii, Alaska and various Caribbean Islands. For 55 years, she and Eddie were also actively involved in the Red Lion Grange.

Upon retirement, in addition to traveling extensively, she collected glassware, crocheted and donated prayer shawls and lap robes, enjoyed word puzzles and coloring. Betty is survived by three sons, John E. and wife, Linda of Dover, Fred E. and wife, Elaine of Hebron, CT and Ted R. and wife, Paula of Latrobe; four grandchildren, Christian D., Jeffrey E., Virginia E. Massa and Allison L. Kami; four great grandchildren; and four nieces. She was preceded in death by twin sisters, S. Katherine Stump and E. Margaret Keener.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Wrightsville Hope U.M. Church, 404 Hellam Street, Wrightsville, PA 17368. Viewings will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 700 Hellam Street, Wrightsville and on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Wrightsville Hope U.M. Church, 404 Hellam Street, Wrightsville, PA 17368 designated for UMW Missions.
