Obituary for Billy Nelson Reaves Billy Nelson Reaves 80 passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center. Born to the late Hanes A. and Thelma Odell Griffin Reaves on the family farm, Billy lived his whole life in Ayden. He was a member of Elm Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

Billy work as a mechanic for the Pitt County Schools Garage for 30 years. He loved to raise cattle and always enjoyed telling jokes. Billy is preceded in death by a sister Adelaide McLawhorn and a nephew Jay French.

He is survived by his sister Betty Carol Reaves French and husband Jerry, brother –in-law Bruce McLawhorn, three nieces, five great nieces and nephews and many cousins. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 2:00pm at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Ayden. Visitation will be one hour prior to service from 1-2pm.

Interment will be on the family farm on Weyerhaeuser Road in Ayden. Memorial contributions may be made to Elm Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Flowers are welcomed.
