Bob” Norman Robert Connor September 23, 1934 – January 28, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Norman Robert “Bob” Connor, of Sears, passed away peacefully Monday, January 28, 2019 at Spectrum Health RNC, Reed City. He was 84. Bob was born to John E. and Jessie (Corkins) Connor on September 23, 1934 in Evart.

He graduated from Evart High School in 1953 where he was an All Star Athlete, second team All-State in Football, setting records in basketball, track, and football. Bob married Elsie Tiedt on August 12, 1956. He went to work at Evart Products (retiring in 1990) and was drafted in 1957 where he was assigned to the 4th Armored Division stationed in Germany.

Bob was joined by his wife, Elsie, and his love of travel began, as they visited many European countries. He was a member of Brooks Corners United Methodist Church, where he used his carpentry skills building the church parsonage and fellowship hall, and on mission trips, Habitat for Humanity, and building the Kids P.A.D. in Evart. Bob loved hunting and fishing.

His love of athletics showed with his regular attendance at Evart High School sporting events, especially when his sons and grandson were playing. Surviving are his wife of 62 years, Elsie, of Sears, sons Steven (Colette) of Linden, Timothy of Sears, and daughter Christine (Daniel) Davis of Sears, grandsons, Brandon (Ashley) Davis of Edgewood, NM, Gregory (Erin) Davis of Farwell, Reilly Connor of Linden, and granddaughter Ryann Connor of Linden, one great granddaughter Aveleen Davis of NM, one great grandson Charles Daniel Davis, expected in May 2019, his sister Shirley, his brother Gerald, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services honoring the life of Norman Robert “Bob” Connor are 11:00am Saturday, February 2nd at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart with Pastor Timothy Locker officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, February 1st 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Evart, Michigan. Memorial contributions may be directed to Brooks Corners United Methodist Church, Evart Athletic Boosters, or Spectrum Health RNC.
