Bonnie Jo Pickering, 82 HARTFORD CITY – Bonnie Jo Pickering, 82, went to be with the Lord at 9:55 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2018 at IU Health Blackford Community Hospital. She was born in Hartford City on April 6, 1936 to Hugh Harvey Freese and Vivian Ann (Myers) Freese. Her parents preceded her in death.

Bonnie was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hartford City and gave many years of service on various church boards. She always had a friendly smile to give and loved her family and friends tremendously. She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 60 years, Richard A. Pickering of Hartford City; daughter, Michelle Ann (husband, Frank) Nelson of Dallas, TX and son, Michael A. Pickering of Victoria, TX; granddaughters, Emily Nelson, Erin Nelson and Morghan Pickering; brother, Gordon Neil Freese of New Braunfels, TX and sister, Judy (husband, Bill) Wiley of Upland; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Grace United Methodist Church, 312 W. Washington St., Hartford City. Visitation will be 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2018 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the church. Bonnie will be cremated and interred at Jefferson Cemetery on the Pickering Family Lot at a later date.
