Obituary of Bonnie Oliver Bonnie Oliver, of the Valley in Syracuse, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Upstate University Hospital. Born April 27, 1949 in Rochester, she grew up in South Onondaga. After graduating from Onondaga Central High School, she attended Oneonta State as a Home Economics major.

Bonnie worked as an Administrative Assistant for the President of the St. Joseph’s School of Nursing before deciding to leave the workforce to stay home with her children. She loved to read, cross-stitch, and spend her spring and summer working in the garden. She was also an avid animal lover, who adopted and cared for many rescue pets, and was an active member of her church.

She is survived by her husband, James; her two sons, Robert and William; her daughters-in-law, Meg and Jessica; her granddaughter, Faye; her grandson, Bram; her brother, William Bex; and her sister-in-law, Susan. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 14, at 2:00 PM at the Episcopal Church of St. Mark the Evangelist, 1612 West Genesee Street, Syracuse. No calling hours will be held.

The family will receive friends following the service, where a light meal will be served. Private interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Syracuse. Donations may be made to St. Mark the Evangelist Church.

Arrangements are with the Fairchild and Meech DeWitt Chapel.
