Carl S. Phillips, 74, of Abingdon, VA passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Abingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Oakwood, VA on May 20, 1944, a son of the late Clarence and Garnie Price Phillips. He had worked as a manager at Deskins Supermarket in Grundy, VA and also as a lab technician for Jewel Smokeless in Vansant, VA.

He was a member of Garden Baptist Church in Oakwood, VA. Carl is survived by his wife, Peggy Addair Phillips; daughter, Carla Phillips Puckett and husband Michael; granddaughter, Morgan Puckett; and two brothers, Raymond Phillips and wife Annie and Rondal Phillips and wife Wanda. No services are planned at this time.
