Obituary for Charles R. “Chuck” Aichner Charles R. “Chuck” Aichner, 76, of Norway, MI passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain. He was born September 14, 1942 in Milwaukee, WI, son of the late Carl and Mary Jane (Zuzeneck) Aichner. Charles served in the United States Army as a Special Forces Green Beret, a member of the Military Police and a demolitions expert.

He received many military awards and was honorably discharged. Later, he worked as an electrician for 43 years at the Niagara Mill where he loved his work. In his spare time Charles coached girls’ softball, while he, himself, played hardball for the Tavern League.

He was also an avid golfer. He once got two holes-in-one on the golf course in one year, the last one being on his 75th birthday! Charles is survived by his wife, Chris; son, Benjamin (Kristi) Spencer; daughter, Shelby Jo (Dennis) Thyer and two grandchildren, Jake and Josie Thyer.

There will be A Celebration of Life for Chuck on Monday, Oct. 29th from 1:00-4:00 PM at Oak Crest Golf Course. Condolences to the family of Charles R. Aichner may be expressed online at www.
