Charles R. Galloway, 88, of North York, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at 8:00 a.m. at Normandie Ridge. He was born in York on September 12, 1930 to the late Eva Galloway Bixler. Charlie was retired from the garment industry.

He was active in the community through membership in the North York Lions Club, as director on the board of the former York County Blind Center, as an assistant scoutmaster in troop 64 and faithful member of Messiah United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. Charles was predeceased by his wife of 49 years, Mary Ellen. He was also preceded in death by three brothers.

He is survived by his sons, Michael and wife, Kathleen of York, Mitchell and wife, Carol of Red Lion, and Jeffrey and wife, Bonnie of Manchester; and by his brother, Fred. “Pap” was the grandfather of six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren who brought much joy to his life. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Messiah United Methodist Church, 1300 North Beaver Street, York, PA 17404.

Friends may visit prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. The Reverend Robert Vizthum will officiate at the service.
