Dale Cleveland September 25, 1938 – January 22, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook LAFAYETTE ~ Graveside services will be held Friday, January 25, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in Hallsville Cemetery in Houston, TX for Dale Cleveland, age 80, who passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at his residence in Lafayette. The Rev. Conrad Winburn will officiate the services.

Mr. Cleveland was a native of Goodrich, TX and a resident of Lafayette for over fifty years. He retired with the Louisiana Department of Labor as the Unemployment Manager after over forty years of employment. During his employment he was a board member for the Louisiana Workforce Commission, a position he held even after retirement.

His passion was bass fishing and walking through West Texas Woods. He enjoyed golf and mostly loved his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Clara Cleveland of Lafayette; one daughter, Angela Cleveland Jax of Gulf Breeze, MS; five grandchildren, Grayson Jax, Olivia Jax, Victoria Jax, Christian Jax and Emma Jax; two brothers-in-law, Conrad Winburn of Longview, TX and Russell Landry of Carencro; and one sister-in-law, Teresa Cleveland of Houston, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Marshal Cleveland and the former Rosa Lea Ogle; one brother, Allan Ray Cleveland; and one sister, Laura Winburn. Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue, (337) 896-6366, is in charge of arrangements.
