Doris Ann Travis, 80, of Jane Lew passed away January 3, 2019 at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital. She was born October 11, 1938 in Weston to the late Paul and Marie Joy Highland Hughes. Doris is survived by her husband of over 30 years, James “Jim” Travis; son, Ronnie Gene Ferguson of Jane Lew; sisters: Katherine Hughes and Janice Clemmens of Jane Lew; brothers: Paul “Butch” Hughes, Gerald Hughes both of Jane Lew, and Randall Hughes of Adrian; step-son, Demetrius Travis of Salem; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents and son, Darrell Curtis Ferguson, preceded Doris in death. Doris was a loving wife and mother who spent her life taking care of her family and home. She was a wonderful cook who served up the best comfort food.

Her creamed tomatoes were the best but baking bread just wasn’t her thing. She loved flowers and was an excellent gardener. She loved animals; over the years she had many beloved pets that she cared for and has left behind three spoiled cats that will miss her dearly.

The family has honored Doris’ wishes to be cremated with no services. The Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew is honored and privileged to serve the family of Doris Ann Travis.
