Obituary for Edgar Convery Edgar L. Convery passed away on July 21, 2018 at the age of 93. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 12, 1925, and was the son of Edgar L. Sr. and Elizabeth McGraw Convery. He lived in Royal Oak MI and had homes at Torch Lake MI and Naples FL.
He recently lived in Brighton MI, Edina MN and Severna Park MD. His wife of 61 years, Patricia Brady Convery, and his daughter, Laurie A. Convery, preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughters: Susan Convery, Martha (Paul) Dworak, Colleen Kral, and Leigh (Karl) Appel.
He is also survived by his grandchildren: John (Sylvia) Kattelus, Joe (Kylie) Kattelus, Dan (Emily) Kattelus, Doug (Becky) Dworak, Paul (Amy) Dworak, Emily (Mike) McGinty, Steve (Stephanie) Dworak, Jenny (Bryan) Richmond, Julie Kral (Patrick Meenan), K.C. (Jeff) Weiss, Jessica (Dan) Severn and Lynn Appel, as well as 14 great grandchildren. Ed was known for his sense of humor, outgoing personality and his generosity. He proudly served in the U.S. Merchant Marines in WWII and spoke often of his time on a Liberty Ship.
He was an Allstate Insurance Agent for 35 years. A lifelong golfer, he belonged to the Imperial Golf Course in Naples FL where he had one of his two “hole-in-ones”, the other at A-Ga-Ming Golf Course at Torch Lake. Receiving of friends will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Keehn Funeral Home, 706 W. Main Street, Brighton, MI 48116.
A mass of resurrection will be Friday, August 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 711 Rickett Road, Brighton, MI. 48116 with Rev. Fr.
Joseph Campbell celebrating. Inurnment will follow at Calvary cemetery, Brighton. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122.
