Obituary of Ed Wilcox Ed Wilcox, age 77, of Corning, NY passed away at home on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Ed was born February 1, 1941 in Corning, NY to Alfred Randall and Laura M. (Heverly) Wilcox. He married Diane Clark on September 3, 1983.

Ed proudly served his country in the Army as a drill sergeant. He retired from Corning Inc. as a Union Mason in 2004. He was a member of the International Union of Brick Layers and Local Union 12 serving as past treasurer and secretary.

Ed was a member of Knights of Columbus, Corning Elk’s, and the American Legion. He was a volunteer fireman with Gibson, North Corning, and Painted Post Fire Departments. Ed was also an avid outdoorsman, and involved in numerous bowling leagues.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years: Diane (Clark) Wilcox; three children: Matthew (Renee) Wilcox, St. Louis, Missouri, Claudine Petrovic of Syracuse, Alfred (Nancy) Wilcox of Corning; five siblings: Florence Mulcahy of Bath, Randall (Linda) Wilcox of Corning, Jeanne (Tom) Hickey of Corning, Joanie Wilcox of Corning, Paul (Denise) Wilcox of Horseheads; 7 grandchildren: Julia Lopez, Logan Wilcox, Paige Wilcox, Astosha Wilcox, Conner Lin, Nicolet Petrovic, Lillian Wilcox; along with several nieces and nephews; his four legged companions, Akasha and Lestat, his Huskies. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to CareFirst, 3805 Meads Creek Road Painted Post, NY 14870, or a charity of one’s choice. Family and friends are invited to call at Phillips Funeral Home, 17 W. Pulteney St. Corning, NY on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 3:00pm-6:00pm.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00am with Fr. Lew Brown officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
