Erma Jean (Colwell) Vigo, 83, of Kiski Township passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 in her home. Born on October 6, 1934 in Apollo she was a daughter of the late Delbert and Margaret (Wood) Colwell. Erma lived in Kiski Township most of her life.

She was a 1952 graduate of Apollo High School and went on to earn her teaching certification from Slippery Rock Teachers College. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, going to the casino and to her camp in Hicks Run.

Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, Mickey, her shepherd mix and her cat Sierra. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Vigo on August 31, 1991 and her 3 brothers, Charles, James and John Colwell. Survivors include her son, Franklin Joseph “Joe” (Melody) Vigo, Jr. of Kiski Township; daughter, Cindy Vigo (Harry B Reefer, Jr.) of Kiski Township; grandchildren, Orren Vigo of Federalsburg, MD, Maria Vigo of Kiski Township and Nicole Rebyanski of Jeannette; sister-in-laws, Olean Colwell of San Diego, CA and Carol Colwell of Birney, MT and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 5-8 pm in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Avenue, Apollo. There will be a Celebration of Life service immediately following the visitation on Monday at 8 pm at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Erma’s memory be made to Four Footed Friends, 220 Beck Rd, Indiana, PA 15701.
