Esther “Jean” (Watt) Fanelli, 81, of Avonmore, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Excela Health- Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born April 14, 1937 in Franklin Township, she was a daughter of the late David & Esther E. (Patterson) Watt. Jean was a 1955 graduate of Franklin Regional High School, and has lived in Avonmore since 1969.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church in Avonmore, and member of the former Bell Township Ladies Auxiliary. But she most loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons and great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a brother, Robert L. “Bob” Watt. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Leon Fanelli; children, Lee E. Fanelli of Harrisburg, Wayne A. (Marla) Fanelli of Hershey, Susan F. (Gregory) Palmiscno of Avonmore; grandsons, Justin, Nicholas, and Matthew; great-granddaughter, Madeline; sisters, Eva (Andrew) Bantroch of Apollo, Mary (Don) Walker of Leechburg; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday, July 6, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave.

, Apollo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. in St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 505 Cambria Ave. , Avonmore, with Father John Harrold as celebrant.

EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Interment in Westview Cemetery, Avonmore.
