Hannah Jean (Shondelmyer) Irwin, 81, of Apollo, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018 in Allegheny Valley Hospital Hospice Unit, Natrona Heights. Born November 19, 1936 in Bell Township, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Harriett (Shelkey) Shondelmyer. Hannah lived in Apollo most of her life, and was a member of St. Paul’s Highfield Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents, Hannah was preceded in death by her husband, Homer M. Irwin, who passed away in 1981; brothers, Bob, Bill, Chuck, Don, and Gary Shondelmyer; and her sister, Hazel King. She is survived by her sons, Rick (Lisa) Irwin of Vandergrift, Daniel (Kari) Irwin of Natrona Heights, Bob (Heather Townsend) Irwin of Hyde Park; daughter, Cathy Irwin of Apollo; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; sisters, Marge Keltz of Bell Township, Mary Ferrante of Vandergrift, Joan Shondelmyer of Bell Township; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave. , Apollo, on Sunday, September 23, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Peter Goetschius officiating. Private interment in Poke Run Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks Memorial Contributions be made in Hannah’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
