Donald W. “Don” Roland, 85, of Saltsburg, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 in St. Andrews Village, Indiana, PA. Born April 20, 1933 in Saltsburg, he was a son of the late Elmer E. & Helen I. (Shupe) Roland. Don lived in Saltsburg most of his life, and was a 1961 graduate of Saltsburg High School.

He proudly served our country with the United State Army during the Korean War. Don worked as an office manager for the formerly Steiner Drapery Company in Saltsburg, and worked… Read More » as a custodian for the Blairsville-Saltsburg School District at Saltsburg Elementary from 1978-1995. He was a member of the Saltsburg American Legion.

Don liked walking at the Indiana Mall, and was known as a great storyteller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marilynn Y. (Roland) Edder, who passed away on January 29, 2017. Don is survived by his nephews, Greg R. (Amy) Edder of Conway, PA, Rich C. (Judy) Edder of Conway, PA, Jerry W. Edder of Kissimmee, FL; great nieces & nephews, Jennifer (Mark) Lutz, Christian, Ryan, Madeleine, and Mandi Edder; and his cousins, John & Barb Roland.

Friends will be received in the Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 701 Salt St., Saltsburg, on Saturday, November 3, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Private interment in Edgewood Cemetery, Saltsburg, at the convenience of the family.
