Harold G. “Hal” Caprara, 86 of Allegheny Township, passed away Monday, October 15, 2018 in UPMC St. Margaret Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born December 9, 1931 in Supino, Italy, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Maria (Mancini) Caprara. He was a graduate of Turtle Creek High School, Class of 1950 and Duquesne University, Class of 1954.

He was a member of St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Vandergrift, the Vandergrift Golf Club and he was a former golf champion at Willowbrook Country Club, numerous times. Hal loved golf, gardening and spending time with his family. Hal is survived by his wife of 25 years, Maxine A. (Ondrizek) Caprara of Allegheny Township, daughters, Kathleen (David) Bogacki and Suzanne Caprara both of Penn Hills, three sons, Dale (Lisa) Caprara of Monroeville, Hal Caprara of East Pittsburgh and Joseph Caprara of Meadville, three grandchildren, Kristen (Dan) Weiss, Courtney Caprara and Alex Caprara, one great grandson, Dominic Weiss, two sisters, Angeline Brennan of Canandaigua, NY and Edith (John) Dinnocenzo of Pittsburgh, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 18, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00pm in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Avenue, Apollo. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 19, 2018 at 12:00 noon in St. Gertrude Roman Catholic Church, Vandergrift with Father James Loew, OSB officiating. Everyone please meet at the church.

Private burial at Riverview Cemetery, Apollo.
