T. Louise (Cunningham) Guthrie, 88, of Apollo, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at Wynwood House Personal Care, State College, PA. Born January 26, 1930 in Apollo, she was the daughter of the late Orville and Mary (Silvis) Cunningham. Louise lived in Apollo, Beaver Falls, and spent the last couple years in State College.

She was an Apollo High School and West Penn Nursing School graduate. Louise was employed by Apollo School District as a part-time nurse, she also was a part-time… Read More » volunteer support staff for the Coalition for Christian Outreach for several years. She was a member of the Apollo United Presbyterian Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution and West Penn Nursing Association.

Louise enjoyed gardening, singing, and cooking. She loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Guthrie, Sr. in 2012, a son, William C. Guthrie, Jr. in 2011; brother, Dale; sisters, Gene Spelman and Helen Rendek; and a nephew, Adam S. Guthrie.

Louise is survived by her children, David S. (Cindy) Guthrie of State College; Donald C. (Mary) Guthrie of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Colby, Logan, and Braden Orange, Sam, Andy, Molly, Ben, and Erin Guthrie; siblings, Galen (Lois) Cunningham; June (Jake) Jackson; daughter-in-law, Cindy Waddell of Allegheny Township, brother-in-law, Dwight (Marsha) Guthrie of Apollo; special niece, Emily (Jeff) Riley and many other nieces and nephews. Friends and family will be received from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 20, 2018 in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 100 Owens View Ave. Apollo.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. Private burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo. Contributions may be made in Louise’s memory to the Apollo United Presbyterian Church 401 First St. Apollo, PA 15613.
