Roy V. Woods, 70, of Kiski Township, passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018 at home. Born March 5, 1948 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Roy Franklin Woods & Maryanne (Vlazina) Woods. Roy was a graduate of Washington Township High School, and lived in Kiski Township since 1997.

His work career saw him employed at Babcock & Wilcox in Vandergrift from 1972-1982, a short time in 1982 at the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company in Cleveland, OH in 1982, for Allied… Read More » Nuclear, Inc. in Fremont, CA, from 1982-1986, and for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Res from 1988 until his retirement in 2008. Roy loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting guns. He also liked to work on computers, taking them apart to see how they operated, and putting them back together again.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Carol L. (Shaeffer) Woods, who passed away on November 26, 2011. He is survived by his son, Cutis J. (Jennifer) Woods of Apollo; daughter, Kelly L. (Scott) Walker of Kiski Township; grandchildren, Alexxis, Keirston, Mitchell, Amanda, Alecia, Kalie, Robert; great-grandchildren, Annalya, Noah, Alora, Rowan, Lydia, Aedan; brothers, Robert “Bob” Woods of South Carolina, Donald “Don” Woods of South Carolina, Eugene Woods of North Huntingdon; sister, Valerie (Charles) Frick of Washington Township; and several nieces and nephews. At Roy’s request, all services are private, and have been entrusted to the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Apollo, PA.
