Michael G. Lucas, 61, of Natrona Heights, formerly of Leechburg, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018, at AHN-Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, surrounded by his loving family. Born July 12, 1957, in Kittanning, he was a son of Rita Ann (Whitlinger) Lucas of Lower Burrell, and the late James R. Lucas. Michael worked for GMAC as a financial analyst and manager for 35 years before spending three years at PNC Bank in a similar capacity. His life was most defined by his rich and fulfilling relationships with family, and he always prioritized quality time with his wife, sons, and grandchildren. He cherished holiday get-togethers, Steelers parties, and weekend getaways to visit, laugh, and celebrate with loved ones.

He valued sincerity in other people, sought to make them feel loved, and almost always found ways to make them laugh. He was an avid reader, often paging through a mystery/thriller or non-fiction book about current affairs. Michael loved nature and being outdoors.

Ever since childhood, he enjoyed music, especially rock and roll from the 70’s, and occasionally discovered talented artists before they ascended to stardom. In addition to his mother, Michael is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia “Patty” (Steri) Lucas; sons, Chris (Liz) Lucas of Erie, Stephen M. Lucas of Washington, D.C.; grandsons, Benjamin Michael & Nathan Raymond Lucas; sisters, Dianne M. Lucas of Lower Burrell, Elizabeth A. Lucas of Oakmont, Jean B. (Eric) Giles of Woodbridge, VA; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Thursday, September 27, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave.

, Apollo. Additional visitation will be held in the funeral home on Friday, September 28, 2018, from 10:00 a.m., until a celebration of Michael’s life begins at 11:00 a.m. The celebration will include a blessing service officiated by Father Ken Zaccagnini. Interment in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo.
