Eugene “Gene”‘s Obituary Eugene Paul Bridges 1930 – 2018 SOUTH PORTLAND – Eugene Paul Bridges, 88, passed away December 20, 2018, at his residence. He was born in Jamaica Plain, MA, on October 28, 1930, the son of Lorren and Minnie (Scribner) Bridges. Gene graduated from Portland High School, and later served in the Navy and Marine Reserves.

Following his military service, he was employed as a pressman at Bryant Press, and Maine Printing. Gene had an extraordinary work ethic and will be remembered for his ability to fix anything. Gene enjoyed working in his yard.

He had blueberry bushes and shared them with his family and neighbors. He is predeceased by his wife, Barbara Bridges; wife, Joan Klasinksi Bridges; son, Jeffrey Bridges. Gene is survived by son, Stephen Bridges and his wife, Patty of Arcadia, FL; daughter, Suzanne Hardy of South Portland; grandson, David Bridges of Biddeford, and granddaughter, Elizabeth Hardy of Warwick, RI.
