Evelyn Virginia Mowery, 74 of Parkersburg, passed away June 27, 2018 at her residence. She was born January 1, 1944 in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Carl and Ruby (Madison) Scott. Evelyn was a homemaker and loved her family dearly, especially her grand and great grandchildren.

She was active in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with her grandson Wyatt. She enjoyed bingo, gardening and flowers and was an avid WVU football fan. Surviving are six children: Carolyn Smith (Randy), Cheryl Cox (Gaylon), Cynthia Powell (Joe), Connie Smith (Jerry), Candace Mowery (Alvis) and Charles Mowery Jr. (Kendra), all of the Parkersburg area and two sisters: Margie Scott and Carla Scott of Parkersburg.

She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Michael Daugherty Jr, Justin Hines, Tyler Ballard, Bobbi Reyes (Justin) and Wyatt Smith and four great grandchildren: Stephanie, Korbin, Zarianna and Royce, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Johnny Bailey. Funeral services will be Saturday 11AM at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Minister Pat Stowers officiating.

Interment will follow at Pleasantview Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 6-8PM. Online guests may send condolences to the family by visiting www.
