Fern R. McVey Goudy, 82, of Lubeck, WV joined her Savior on June 24, 2018 following an extended illness. Fern was born in York Springs, Pennsylvania on July 7, 1935 to the late Paul U. & Nada Winkler McVey. She was a member of the South Parkersburg Baptist Church; she enjoyed her younger years serving as a Sunday School Teacher, serving on the pastoral selection committee, and serving on the Board of Christian Education.

She felt called to promote the mission work of the Church. Her greatest joy was in being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, John a. Goudy on April 13, 2017.

She was also preceded by her first husband, Wayne S. Earnest in 1969. She was the loving sister to Muriel Elizabeth Myers of Mechanicsburg, PA and the late Richard McVey. She is survived by her children – Alan and Jody Earnest of Murraysville, WV, Senta Goudy & Roy Schleicher of Parkersburg, Lea and David Miller of Big Sandy, TX, David & Paula Goudy, Robert Kevin & Cathy Goudy, Kathleen Earnest, Heather Goudy, & Kaliegh Winland, all of Parkersburg.

She was a devoted Grandmother to Daniel Earnest, Elizabeth Fetterhoff, Nicholas, Dane, and Ryan Proudfoot, Valerie Full, Megan Goudy, Sarah Hensley, Alexandria Weaver, Mary Ashley Giffen. She had 8 great- grandchildren. She was blessed by the life-long friendship of Gene and Barbara Hoschar.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 4:00pm at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Reverend Mike Seely officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2pm until service time. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.
