SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI – Frances L. Cooper Rasnake, 96, was promoted to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 17, 2019. She was born in St. Paul, Virginia; daughter of the late R. C. and Gertrude Castle Cooper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton B. Rasnake; one sister, Lois Cooper Porter; a daughter-in-law, Delores Boulware Rasnake; and a son-in-law, Jack L. Brittan.

She attended Dante Central High School in Dante, Virginia, where shortly after her graduation she married Clinton B. Rasnake. They married on November 2, 1940 and welcomed a son and a daughter to complete their family. She worked for many years as a sales lady at Deen’s Department Store, later known as Meade’s Department Store in St. Paul, Virginia.

For a short time she also worked at the “Shirt Factory” in St. Paul, Virginia. Beginning in her teenage years she played piano for church services and camp meetings in Dante, St. Paul, and the Appalachian District. She also played the organ at St. Paul Assembly of God for over fifty years.

She and Clinton taught the new converts class and were youth leaders while she also served as the Women’s Ministries President and as Sunday School Treasurer. She is survived by her son, Burt Rasnake and wife, Sharon of Springfield, Missouri; her daughter, Dorothy Brattin of Springfield, Missouri; two sisters, Irene Rose of St. Paul, Virginia and Bobbie Duke of Gresham, Oregon; three granddaughters, Valerie L. Brattin, Jacque Nelson, and DeEtta Cox and husband, Rob; five great grandchildren, Nacole Smith and husband, Bo, Chris Cox and wife, Erica, Natalie Gantney and husband, Jesse, Nathan Nelson and wife, Oana, and Vanessa Nelson and Tanner Evans; four great-great grandchildren, Lexi Smith, Emily Smith, Jemma Smith, and Jaxon Gosa. Funeral Services for Frances L. Cooper Rasnake will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev.

Herbert C Peak, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Family and Friends.
