SANDY RIDGE, VIRGINIA – Juanita Johnson, 83, passed away peacefully, Saturday February 16, 2019 at Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee with her family by her side.
She was born in Dante, Virginia; daughter of the late Amos and Susie McCoy Johnson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bascom Slemp Johnson; one brother, Homer Lee Johnson and one great grandchild, Emma Marie Sturgill. She is survived by her four daughters, Edith McCoy and husband, Harold of St. Paul, Virginia, Teresa Hamilton and husband, Harry of St. Paul, Virginia, Joyce Tumidiski and husband, Craig of Coeburn, Virginia and Karen Dockery and husband, Marvin of Nora, Virginia; one son, Jonathan Johnson and wife, Jennifer of Jonesborough, Tennessee; two sisters, Jane Smith of Gate City, Virginia and Kathryn Smith of Richlands, Virginia; twelve grandchildren, Rebekah Brickey and husband, Barry, Leslie Robinette and husband, Sam, Ronnie Carico and wife, Erin, Melissa Hamilton, Joshua Dockery and wife, Elizabeth, Amy Mullins and husband, Derek, Sarah Daniels and husband, Josh, Susie Sturgill, Jeremy Jordan, Hunter Johnson, Emily Johnson, and Sean Johnson; three step grandchildren, Marvin Dockery, Jr., Michael Dockery and Mitchell Dockery; seven great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Colby, Sadie, Paisley, Mason, Alyssa and Hannah; four step great grandchildren, Peyton, Harrison, Trinity and Abby; one great-great grandson, William; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Juanita Johnson will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 18, 2019 in Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia with Rev. Bill Crawford and Rev. Glenn Ritchie officiating.
Committal Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2019 in Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia. Family and Friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the cemetery leaving at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Pallbearers will be family.
