George Kenneth Dennis May 28, 1929 – November 26, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card George Kenneth Dennis, 89, of Blanchard, died Monday, November 26, 2018, in Oklahoma City. The son of Rand Charles Dennis and Viola Francis (Featherstone) Dennis, he was born May 28, 1929 in Blanchard, Oklahoma. George was born and raised in Blanchard and graduated from Blanchard High School in 1948.

He married Fern Richey on October 25, 1948 in Blanchard. He worked for many years as a farmer and rancher, raising cattle and growing all kinds of vegetables. George sold his produce at the Farmer’s Market and was a member of the Oklahoma Farm Bureau, Cleveland County Farmers Market Association, and Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association.

He also enjoyed growing many types of flowers and was a Master Gardener and a member of the Oklahoma Iris Growers Association. George was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Blanchard. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Richard Cunningham; three brothers, R.F. Dennis, Jimmy L. Dennis, and Jack Dennis; and one sister, Laura Sue Dennis. George is survived by his wife of 70 years, Fern Dennis of Blanchard; two daughters, Linda Sue Peters of Blanchard and Donna Lee Jervis and her husband, Slick, of Blanchard; one son, Hal Dennis and his wife, Toni, of Norman; four grandchildren, Georgia Dennis and her husband, Luke Enterline, of Norman, Brian Jervis and his wife, Staci, of Sapulpa, Drew Jervis and his wife, Chrystal, of Blanchard, and Randy Peters and his wife, Ashley, of Madill; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Ann Brooks of Blanchard; one brother, Don Dennis and his wife, Barbara, of Oklahoma City; and many other loved ones and friends. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, November 30, 2018, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard.
