Norma Jean Digby October 10, 1934 – November 29, 2018 Share this obituary Send Flowers Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Norma Jean Digby, 84, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Newcastle, died Thursday, November 29, 2018 in Oklahoma City. The only child of Clyde James Ashley and Dorothy Lee (Demings) Christie, she was born October 10, 1934 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Jean married James Digby, Sr. on June 10, 1955 in Oklahoma City.

She was a resident of the Dibble/Blanchard/Newcastle area for the last 40 years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Jean worked for many years as a nurse for Norman Regional Hospital.

In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV, crocheting, and gardening. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.D. Digby; a daughter, Deliliah Digby; a son, Michael Digby; a grandson, Reggie Martinez; and a granddaughter, Ashley Jean Digby.

She is survived by one daughter, Melody Groves of Shawnee; three sons, James Digby and his wife, Treva, of Newcastle, Morgan Digby and his wife, Michele, of Mustang, and Steve Martinez and his wife, Debbie, of Blanchard; ten grandchildren, Ian Digby of Deer Creek, Jacob Digby of Norman, Sharinda Thomas of Comanche, Dana Gittings of Chickasha, Michael Digby of South Carolina, Dustin Digby of Shawnee, Lance Groves of Shawnee, Laura Groves of Edmond, Joey Martinez of Edmond, and Jeff Martinez of South Carolina; sixteen great grandchildren; and many other loved ones and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 1, 2018, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Dibble Cemetery.
