James Gale Weaver, 87, of Brazil passed away Tuesday September 4, 2018 in Cloverleaf Healthcare. He was born in Brazil on September 29, 1930, the son of Gayle Weaver and Rosemary Leins Weaver. Jim was a 1948 graduate of Brazil Senior High School and in later years attended Indiana State University.

While in School, he joined the Naval Reserve from 1947 to 1951. He was the plant manager of Standard Register Company in Terre Haute. Jim was involved in the advisory printing program for Vincennes… Read More » University and was a volunteer with The Clay County Adult Literacy Program.

He enjoyed genealogy, traveling, camping, canoeing, and even built his own canoe in the living room of his home. Jim was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Greencastle. He will be sorely missed by “The Hardees Boys”.

Survivors include his three daughters, Melanie Walker and her husband, Curt of Brazil, Kathleen Gibson and her husband, Michael of Greencastle and Carolyn Bates and her husband, Mike of Ft. Wayne; his grandchildren, Erin Bookout and her husband, David, Emily Hill and her husband, Matthew, Holly Lee and her husband Ryan, Eric Walker and his wife Shandra, Michael Marlow and his wife, Lindsey and Sara Howard and her husband, Josh; and great-grandchildren, Nina, Bryce, Charlie, Audrey, Sam, Max and Chloe. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife of fifty-four years, Marcella Pyles Weaver.

Private graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, September 8, 2018 in Clearview Cemetery with Pastor Matthew Schneider officiating. Burial will follow immediately after services. No visitation is scheduled.
