Monty R. Megenhardt, 69, of Indianapolis, Indiana and formerly of Brazil, Indiana passed away on October 28, 2018 following a short illness. Monty was born on April 26, 1949, in Clay County, Indiana the son of Ray and Marjorie May (Reed) Megenhardt. He graduated from Brazil High School with the class of 1967.

Monty was a devout Christian. He enjoyed reading the Bible and spending time in prayer. He also enjoyed working in the yard, spending time with his grandkids, and playing Bingo.

Monty had been actively involved in the Berea Christian Church while they were living in Brazil. Once he and Denise moved to Indianapolis they became involved with the Emmaus Christian Church where Monty was involved in the Wise Warrior Elders. Monty is survived by his wife Denise; daughters Angie Frazier and husband Scott and Amy Renee Menges and husband A.J.; a son Timothy Scott Megenhardt; grandchildren: Paulina, Scotty, Isaiah, Elijah, Summer, Dominik, Brooklee, Katie, and Austin and 2 great-grandchildren; a sister Sandy Lorenze and a niece and nephew Dana Lorenze and Tony Lorenze.

Monty was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Marjorie Megenhardt and his grandmother Nellie Reed. A Celebration of Life will be at Berea Christian Church 1995 W County Rd 800 N, Brazil, IN 47834 on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 7:00pm. Visitation will be at the church, on Thursday, from 5pm until time of services.
