James Kenneth Meadows, 95, of Grantsville, MD, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville. Born December 24, 1922, in Sweet Springs, WV, he was the son of the late James A. and Ottie Lee (Griffith) Meadows. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Henrietta (Krol) Meadows; two brothers, William Olin and Roy Meadows; four sisters, Ruth Rentfro, Madaline Meadows, Josephine Tincher and Margaret Forrester.

Mr. Meadows was a Physical Science Technician for Goddard Space Flight Center and a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, where he was stationed in Hawaii. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and formally a member of Wesley Grove United Methodist Church. He was a member of Jephthah Lodge #222, A.F. & A.M., Glen Burnie, MD and Baltimore Consistory, Scottish Rite.

He is survived by two daughters, Beverly Jane (John Lotz) Meadows, Winchester, VA; Joan Susan (Jeff) McKee, New Windsor, MD; two sisters, Helen Kotzum, Es, MD; Annabelle May, Gaithersburg, MD; one grandson, Robert William Robey and one step-grandson, Jason Lotz. Funeral services will be conducted in the Wesley Grove United Methodist Church, 1320 Dorsey Rd. , Hanover, MD 21076, on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev.

Marion Easterling and the Rev. Dr. Donald Forrester officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.

A Masonic Service will be conducted at 10:15 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd. , Elk Ridge, MD 21075.

Military graveside rites will be accorded by local area veteran’s organizations. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Goodwill Mennonite Home, 891 Dorsey Hotel Rd. , Grantsville, MD 21536.
