Margaret Etholyn (Burkett) Thomas, 93, of Eatonton, GA, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018, at The Harbor at Harmony Crossing, Eatonton. Born January 16, 1925, in Westernport, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Etholyn (McIntyre) Burkett. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Burton S. Thomas; one daughter, Linda (Thomas) Jordan; and two brothers, Billy and Harry Burkett.

Mrs. Thomas was a lab operator for the Celanese Corp. and a member of the Eastern Star. She loved to square dance and made the best spaghetti in the world.

She is survived by three sons, Larry A. (Tina) Thomas, Richard S. (Paulann) Thomas and B. Todd (Brenda Sisler) Thomas; four grandchildren, Oliver (Trisha) Jordan, Eryn (C.J.) Thomas, Tyler Thomas and Emily Thomas; two step-granddaughters, Melissa (Archer) Schneider and Angela Archer; and two great-grandchildren, Makena and Kylen Jordan. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, on Sunday, June 10, 2018, from 3-7 p.m. with a funeral service at 4:30 p.m. with the Rev. David Martin officiating.

On Monday, June 11, 2018, friends will be received at the funeral home from 10-11 a.m., committal services will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park, Cumberland, MD with Pastor Sam Moon officiating.
