Stella Mae Swauger, 90, of Grantsville, MD, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018, at Frostburg Village Nursing Home, Frostburg, MD. Born March 11, 1928, in Everett, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Lowery) Young. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Swauger; one step-son, Robert Swauger; one step-daughter, Mary Ann Garlitz; one grandson, George Hall and one step-granddaughter, Kimberly Minnick.

Mrs. Swauger was a seamstress at Fechheimer Shirt Factory. Stella loved her roses, crocheting and quilting at the Grantsville Senior Center. She is survived by one son, Wayne Swauger, Grantsville; one daughter, Carol Young, Saxonburg, PA; two step-sons, William Swauger, Grantsville; Charles Swauger, VA; one step-daughter, Linda Hetz, Frostburg; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

At Stella’s request, she will be cremated and no services are planned. Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, is in charge of cremation arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.
