Ruth Elizabeth Bittinger, 86, of Grantsville, MD, died Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Premier Health Center, Washington, PA. Born July 2, 1931, in Grantsville, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Bessie Ellen (Legeer) Fazenbaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Reuben Bittinger; two brothers, Harry and Kenneth Fazenbaker; and one sister, Helen Brooks.

Mrs. Bittinger was a homemaker. She is survived by five sons, Charles (Joyce) Bittinger, Frederick, MD; Glenn Bittinger and Randy (Cindy) Bittinger, all of Phoenix, AZ; Richard (Joanne) Bittinger, Grantsville and Jeff Bittinger, Washington, PA; two daughters, Joyce (Rick) Watson, Washington, PA; Linda (Mike) Beal, Grantsville; two brothers, Guy Fazenbaker, Oakland, MD and Charles Fazenbaker, Grantsville; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A, 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Barry Beal officiating.

Interment will be in the Grantsville Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Meals on Wheels, c/o Area Agency on Aging, 104 E. Center St., Oakland, MD 21550. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.
