Daniel James Yoder, Sr., 78, of Accident, MD, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at his residence. Born October 13, 1939, in Wellman, IA, he was the son of the late Henry and Sadie (Beachy) Yoder. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Mark Yoder.

Daniel was a carpenter and did part time farming, and for 20 years worked at Rigidply Rafters. He was a member of the Glade Mennonite Church. He was past president of House of Yoder and volunteered with the Mennonite Disaster Service.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Elizabeth (Beitzel) Yoder; one son, Daniel (Becky) Yoder, Jr., Accident; two daughters, Rose (Jeff) Opel, Accident; Brenda (Mike) Brenneman, Grantsville, MD; four brothers, Nelson Yoder, VA; Paul Yoder, KY; Curtis Yoder, Costa Rica; John Yoder, CA; five sisters, Orpha Mast, VA; Ella Mae Landis, PA; Anna Yoder, TN; Rhoda Chavarria and Martha Vargas, both of TX; seven grandchildren, Andrea, Tina, Anita (Allen), Alyona, Nick, Megan (Steve) and Dustin (Nicole); two great-grandchildren, Emma and Kylie. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the Glade Mennonite Church, Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Jonathan Martin officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services.
