Norma Jean Dumire, 79, of Oakland, MD, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland. Born December 12, 1938, in Saltville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Noah C. and Laura G. (Rolen) Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Keith L. Dumire; three sons, Ronald D. Dumire, Donald C. Dumire and Tracy L. Dumire; a daughter, Tina R. Jones and a brother, George Sonny Thomas.

Norma worked as a nurse’s aide for Garrett Memorial Hospital. She loved God and her family. Norma enjoyed going to TOPS, line dancing and was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by four sons, Dennis K. Dumire, Terra Alta, WV, Randall D. Dumire, Timothy R. Dumire and Thomas R. Dumire, all of Oakland; a daughter, Rhonda J. Mooney, Wilkes-Barre, PA; three sisters, Ann Dunson, Terra Alta, Bertha Gable, Hoyes Sang Run, MD and Kathy Powell, Terra Alta; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Dr., Oakland, on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 2:00p.m. with Pastor Barry Kimbrough and Chaplin Rodney Powell officiating. Interment will be in Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
